Mrs. Audrey Walker is a committed public servant and lifelong Trenton resident. She was employed with the Trenton Housing Authority. After 40 years of service, Audrey retired as the Director of Housing Operations.   

After surviving a tumultuous three-year battle with breast cancer in 2007, Audrey Walker became one of the founding members and is the President of the Healing Stream Breast Cancer Awareness Organization (HSBCA). Since its inception, the Healing Stream Breast Cancer Awareness Organization has educated, counseled, and supported countless women and their families in the community affected by breast cancer. Audrey personally serves these women by making herself readily available to them one by one. She shares her story of triumph, giving encouragement, and imparting hope and strength while they walk through their process. 

Under Audrey’s leadership, the Healing Stream team has organized multiple breast cancer awareness 5K walks taking its message of hope and support out into the community. The organization also hosts Biannual Scholarship Teas awarding $1,000 scholarship to college students whose immediate family member is battling breast cancer. The Scholarship Tea also honors persons in the community that provide exemplary service to others. The 5K Walk and the Scholarship Tea are fundraisers that enable the Healing Stream Organization to fulfill its mission of supporting women and providing intimate care and meeting the immediate needs to aid in getting them and their families through their daily battle against the disease.   

Audrey knows herself to be a blessed woman of God, is a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  One of her favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:13-17 “Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels and nothing you desire can compare to her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.”
