About Us

Healing Stream Breast Cancer Awareness (HSBCA) was established in 2005 by two women who were both diagnosed with breast cancer. These women were inspired to start the organization by their pastor, Bishop E. Earl Jenkins to encourage other women diagnosed with the disease to instill hope by sharing their knowledge and experience of triumph. After a short while of working with breast cancer victims in their church, it became evident that women in their local communities were being diagnosed with the disease at an alarming rate.

Under the leadership of one of its founding members, Audrey Walker, HSBCA has taken our message of hope and support out into the community. While many worthwhile organizations are also fighting hard to find a cure against breast cancer, there are a lot of immediate needs of women to get them through their daily battle against the disease.

That is the reason our focus and mission is to provide intimate care and support to meet those essential needs of women and their families walking through their journey with breast cancer.

To fulfill our mission of expanding our reach within the community and provide the necessary support to women, HSBCA hosted its first annual breast cancer awareness walk/run in 2007. Since that time, our annual walks have grown to host as many as 600 participants and is known to be one of the largest and highly anticipated walks held in our local community. This has given us the opportunity to heighten awareness within our community and raise funds to help realize our vision of supporting women, their families and other organizations impacted by breast cancer.
